Our collection of antique white jades is small, as the number of pieces on the market at any time is exceedingly small.

AWJ1001 - Stepping/Dancing Boy
Stepping or dancing boy holding peaches and branches (symbolizing happiness) behind him, on which a bat (symbolizing long life) is resting. 2 7/16 inches tall, well polished and of near-flawless Xinjiang nephrite, it is a pleasing, well carved and reticulated mid-Qing carving (1750-1850 AD) Were the jade a little brighter white, it would be tempting to call this a palace workshop example, since the design and execution is so unique and well done. A special jade deserving of the finest collection. PRICE: $850.00
AWJ1003 - Fu Dragon Chop-form Amulet
Interesting chop-form amulet that probably served as a paper weight, a fu dragon is looking back over his shoulder, his body twisted in a circle. The white jade is uniform but only of mid quality with some evidences of 19th century and 20th century use. 1 5/8 inches tall, nicely smooth and reticulated, he will be a pleasing addition to anyone's jade cabinet. PRICE: $250.00
AWJ1004 - Duck/Goose
Stylized form of a duck or goose, seen in profile, in a fine white opaque jade that shows light evidence of burial incursion on one side. The exaggerated chest and flaring tail feathers suggest a style derived from northern Liao / Jin art. The heavier body than is characteristic of these earlier pieces suggests this is a northern-styled example dating from the Yuan or early Ming. Wonderfully smooth to the touch and delightful to the eye, it is a rare and wondrous creation. 2 7/16 inches long by 3/4 inches thick. PRICE: $895.00
AWJ1006 - Cat With Sacred Fungus
Translucent white nephrite, cat-like animal holding the lingxi sacred fungus, which sits on his haunches, acting as a resting pad for a longevity bat. A sweet carving with excellent workmanship and polish. 2 1/8 inches long by 5/8 inches thick. A 19th century small masterpiece. PRICE: $395.00
AWJ1008 - Antique White Jade Phoenix Bird
An unusual Xinjiang white Nephrite jade amulet of a large upright Phoenix bird in profile, puffed out and displaying all of her feathered finery, with a smaller Dragon facing her and climbing up for an embrace. Clearly a historical reference to Empress Cixi (the Phoenix) who dominated her male (Dragon) relations in the latter half of the 19th century. This large and impressive jade is pierced in numerous places and carved out inside, a technique that would have consumed months to accomplish. The fine translucent Nephrite has several subtle slightly-more-opaque lines within the natural stone material that do not detract, is very well executed, in perfect condition, and harmoniously conceived. Mounted for waist suspension with a green Peking glass bead, it would make a fine pendent also. Possibly meant to be satirical, it is 2-1/2" tall by 1-3/4" wide. A rare historical treasure. PRICE: $575.00 [See picture of back]
AWJ1009 - Antique White Jade Dancing Boy
"Boy Dancing over the Waves" with an auspicous cloud design above, all in an oval plaque that is well-smoothed and of fine translucent white Manchurian Jade. 19th century, a poem in Chinese script is on the back, with an apparent signature at the left in a small vertical rectangle. Under magnification it is seen that the surfaces have not been given their final polish, so this may have been a commemorative or honorary piece that had a time deadline for presentation, which did not allow for the final finish. Fisth I have seen like that on a white jade, but it is a historically known occurrence. 2-3/16" tall by 1-3/4" wide, in perfect condition, and mounted with a black silk neck cord. PRICE: $290.00 [See picture of back]
AWJ1012 - Antique White Heavenly Aspirations
"Heavenly Aspirations" are evident in this flawless translucent white Manchurian Jade pendant. Birds and clouds designs surround a central temple on the obverse, while the reverse has a short saying in a dotted field resembling the surface of an auspicious fruit or seed pod. Very smooth to the touch, it is mounted as a necklace with black silk cord and dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. 2-7/16" tall by 1-7/16" wide, the most minor flaw - a tiny 1/16" tap at left edge showing opaque - serves to distinguish the past use of this. A complex and very pleasing composition that combines delicacy with strength. PRICE: $340.00 [See picture of back]
AWJ1013 - Antique White Military Jade w/ Dragons
Superb "military jade" of a pair of dragons sparring on an ancient shield form, made from fine white, and uniformly translucent hard Manchurian Jade from Liaoning Province. Design and workmanship are AAA on this exceptional piece, which is lovingly hand-polished to a pleasing tactile smoothness. Possible Imperial workshop piece of the 17th-18th century, such classics as this were often gifts to a meritorious captain or general. 2-1/8" long by 1-7/16" wide, and in perfect condition. A bargain. PRICE: $390.00 [See picture of back]
AWJ1014 - Delightful White Jade Dragon with Bat
Delightful small and complex carving of a Dragon climbing a sacred fungus-of-immortality on one side, and a Bat with gourd or double-peaches on the other. The fine, hard translucent white jade has a small, cloudy-white opaque inclusion in the center, that seems to float in the air of its translucent surroundings (it can only be seen when held to the light). 1-3/8" tall by 7/8" wide, mid-20th century, it is delicate and superbly made from the hands of a true master. Symbolic of a long, powerful and happy life. Note: Although the jade is not considered a true antique based on age, we feel it represents a beautiful example of jade carving done "in the old ways". PRICE: $270.00 [See picture of back]
AWJ1015 - Symbolic White Jade Monkey on Bambo
White Burmese Jade of a monkey atop a segment of squarish bamboo, the combination symbolic of purity and virtue, or religious conviction. 20th century, it could have served as a handle for a small fan. Probably from the 1950-1970 period and may be new (never used). 2" long by 7/8" wide, it comes with a 3-1/4" red silk suspension cord. Note: Although the jade is not considered a true antique based on age, we feel it represents a beautiful example of jade carving done "in the old ways". PRICE: $135.00 [See picture of back]
AWJ1016 - Antique White Jade Dragon Plaque
Dragon Plaque in purest flawless translucent Manchurian White Jade. The large, central animal is in folksy 19th century style, and is "of the period". He has one foot on a cloud while playing with the sacred ball of wisdom, protecting it for humanity. Cloud designs frame the top of the plaque both front and rear, and Chinese wisdom is in raised relief on the back. 2-1/4" tall by 1-3/4" wide and in perfect condition. PRICE: $285.00 [See picture of back]
